Febrero

...because "F-E-B-R-U-A-R-Y" is just a weird word. Plus, I like that the Spanish word for Feblurary rhymes with sombrero which is especially funny because I don't think there's a single month in the year that I associate less with a sombrero than Febrary. Thank you, all the same, Febuary, for being the one month that challenges my kids' ninja-like spelling abilities because really, their spelling egos are a little out of control (so maybe it's because they, you know, read and therefore they know difficult words like "coin" and "tomorrow"... take pity on us, oh residents of Pan Asia, our current and future academic overlords).

To look forward to this month:

  • Snow (and probably a week of 70+ temperatures because that's how Colorado rolls... I do love a state with moodswings - makes me feel at home)
  • Moody teenage girls (because boys totally don't get that Valentine's Day actually means something to girls but it's not like it means something it's just that they ought to realize that maybe every once in a while girls want boys to give a little consideration to the possibility that maybe it means something, jeez.)
  • Swimming (just like every other month, but this is the month when I don't complain about spending so much time at the pool because really... it's Ferbuary!)
  • Grandma and Grandpa both have birthdays. Not that we throw them a big ol' party or anything but... seemed noteworthy.
  • I go back to work. Luckily, my first work meeting is this Friday and it's at the Rainbow and any of you who are paying the slightest bit of attention know that I looooove the Rainbow.
  • Ummm... it's almost March!

and, with that, I will return to folding (um... looking at) laundry.
