and now...

...the flu morphed into pneumonia. I spent 8 days in bed. Many drugs were consumed. Today is a new day. I think I sprained/bruised my ribs/muscles/right boob from all the coughing. I'm whining but I earned the right. It's been brutal.

Thanks to a gorgeous day today (80's! Woo Hoo), I've got high hopes for better health and more energy. Mr. K (and grandma and grandpa) have done a great job filling in while I've been busy being disgusting. The kids and I appreciate it a lot, and it's good for my soul to know that it takes such a group effort to replace me :)

During all the chaos, we got a new pet... Ron Squeezely, tiger salamander. Our neighbor grew weary of his salamander (as many high school boys with social lives tend to do), so I snapped it up and despite a severe and unexpected case of heeby jeebies brought on by having to pick him up to transfer him to his new habitat (he feels WEIRD), all is well. He enjoys mealworms, swimming, rolling around, long walks on the beach, and looking at people funny with his beady little eyes. Never did I think I would live in a house with so many greenish animals but here I am...

This week is a week of catch up and lots of work to prepare for upcoming youth orchestra concerts. R and A each have performances this week, and C is in the talent show. It's going to be a fun and busy week made all the better if I'm able to keep from having violent coughing attacks..... I dream big.

So, that's about it... lovely weather, ebbing illness, and a fun/busy week ahead!
