"Autumn leaves are falling..."

Photo taken by Mr. K on his mountain bike ride last weekend that undoubtedly crossed dangerous old bridges and pushed him to the brink of disaster a couple of times (which is right where he prefers to play, thankyouverymuch). He likes rusty iron things.

The post title is in quotes because I will always associate those words with a Kiwi Expat (whose name I can't recall... bad me!) who had a little girl C's age. The girls took dance classes together and nearly every time I saw them at class the mom would have a little tizzy about her daughter losing her New Zealand accent. She would ask her daughter to say, "Autumn leaves are falling" and when she started with a distinct "ah" sound instead of "o", the mom would die a little inside. They moved back to New Zealand soon thereafter.

But that's not the point of this post. The point is this - sweet mother of everything holy this weather is fabulous! It's cooling down, getting downright chilly at night, and we even got a little moisture yesterday. The autumn leaves are indeed beginning to fall and my walk this morning was not as sweaty as it has been.

The sky was ridiculously blue this morning and there are a few leaves beginning to turn on the elm in the front yard.

...and one of Shoebuckle's tadpoles is still alive. The other one turned back into stardust.

This one's name is Eclipse. I was kind of hoping we could avoid naming it in case it goes the way of the other one. Note its very authentic looking habitat. It reminds me of the old Land of the Lost TV show (but better).
