This one has been burning for several days west of Boulder. At least 160 structures have been destroyed.
This one started this weekend southwest of Loveland. The most recent reports put it at 700 acres with two homes destroyed.
Even closer to home, the pasture is drier than ever. I'm beginning to think I need to get some hay sooner rather than later for the sheep (but knowing my procrastinating ways, they'll just have to learn to like the cruddy stuff left out there until the snow flies).
There are also some things that are crispy in a good way. I would like to harvest the entire tree's worth and make all things apple. A much larger proportion than usual have been spared by the bugs. The problem is, much of what I like to make with apples just isn't complete without butter and brown sugar (and a scoop of ice cream).
My abundance of apples (and my abundance of jiggle) vs. homes consumed by fire and lost crops...
Shutting up. Now.
