Dear Mr. Superintendant:

With all of the teacher work/collaboration/inservice/training days scheduled in a school year, why oh why is there school on the day after Halloween? Now granted, as a parent, I didn't cry too hard about sending my grumpy, tired, glucose-impaired children off this morning to be in someone else's care but I'm just guessing that not a whole lot of learning is going on in those classrooms today.

Respectfully,
Loco

PS: If you're unable to honor my request, would you at least suspend the "no duct taping kids to their desks" rule just for today?

  1. Seriously. I prayed for S and E's teachers yesterday. Poor ladies! I did chuckle a few times though - which is mean, I know - however, 23 sleep deprived, hopped up on sugar kids is just insane!

  2. Beyond insane! I took R and A in about 30 minutes late and when the attendance secretary asked me why they were late I said, "They were too dang grumpy." Her response? "Honesty is so refreshing."

I wished the school good luck, hopped in the van, went home, ate a couple of pieces of their Halloween candy and pledged to spend the rest of my kid-free hours in as much silence as possible.
