All in the name of reinforcing gender stereotypes...

C and A have a 6:15 p.m. appointment to spend a gift certificate to a local nail salon. We'll probably go out for dinner beforehand (and drink some kind of spritzer... you know, 'cause we're girly like that!).

R and his Grandpa are hitting the slopes today. It's supposed to get really chilly tomorrow (chance of snow! WooHoo!!) so they thought they would take advantage of slightly warmer weather today to get their first trip under their belts (or boots?). Keep an eye out on the Eldora Web Cams... you might just see their smiling faces. After skiing, R and Mr. K will undoubtedly watch something with lots of explosions, eat whatever is lurking in the back of the fridge, and (heaven help us) have some kind of contest of bodily noises.

So, today's task is to get caught up with the laundry and to try not to get so sucked in by my book (so good!!!!) that the girls go to the neighbors' houses to beg for lunch. Luckily, we have some leftover pizza, so that scenario is unlikely. Right now, C is playing Bach's A Minor Violin Concerto on marimba and A is obligingly being as annoying as possible (!) so C can improve her ability to play with distraction. See... little sisters are really super helpful (says me, a younger sister).

PS: To all of you who sent us lovely Christmas cards, pictures of your gorgeous families, and tales of 2010 in review, THANK YOU! I can't get over how much faster everyone else's kids are growing that mine (since mine are still teeny tiny just born babies who never misbehave or throw things at me, roll their eyes, or lose every.freaking.thing.they.ever.touch., or drain the hot water heater with their 20 minutes showers, or you know... anything else annoying) I would say that I'm running late with the cards or something like that but the truth is that I never even got started down that path this year. Hopefully the blog will count as my correspondence for now with (empty?) promises to do better next year on the card front.
