Back to it.

The kids go back to school today. I had to heed the 6 a.m. alarm rather than rolling over and pulling the covers around my ears. C is being rather good-natured about the return to school -- maybe because Dad made her noodles for breakfast. If that's the price of morning harmony... I'd better go buy more noodles!

After getting up before 7 almost every morning of break, R and A are happily snoozing through a couple of showers, some dishes, a load of laundry, a couple of cat-chasing dog-chasing cat sprints past their doors. Life is funny like that.

Our break started out a little high on the "Bickerson" scale but by the end, everyone was playing nice (even me!) and we all agree we desperately needed a break from school, routine, and generally everything.

We have a busy evening tonight because R and C are joining the local swim team for a 2-week trial and their practice group lands on the same night as piano lessons. Assuming C's no-nonsense math teacher loads them up with homework from day one (safe assumption, by the way) it's gonna be a busy one!
