First, a note - the batch of breakfast burritos I made from yesterday's recipes made 18 burritos, not 2 dozen. I think I got a little generous with the filling but there's no harm in that. K ate one for dinner last night after a 2 hour spin class that I think would have to have been classified as a mega-burrito so perhaps without that one the recipe would be closer to the 2 dozen target.
This weekend is the district solo and ensemble contest so I'll get to enjoy the musical stylings of C+3 of her fellow percussionists. It should be fun. It should... and I hope it actually will be. I'm going to need to pace myself through the next several days of music appreciation -- 2 important college recitals for the kids' music teachers, 1 possible trip to Pirates of Penzance, many, many violin, piano, and percussion practice sessions, and 1 more middle school band concert next week.
I got great news from Bacca and Chris, much adored babysitter+all-around cool dude artist boyfriend (now husband) that they're expecting a baby in September. Too bad they live in New England... or else I could return the babysitting favor!
Today is overcast (woo hoo! there's a little glimmer of hope for clean toilets now that I don't have a burning need to spend the day outside playing fetch with the dog) and cooler and I have 3 VERY ripe bananas on my kitchen counter..... I think I might need to make some Banana-Apricot-Pecan Bread today. It's an old favorite and hands down the best (well, my favorite at least) banana bread in the world as I know it! If I get pics before I eat it all (and I do mean I - there isn't another banana, apricot, or pecan-loving soul in this household) I will post those along with a recipe soon.
Yikes, that's an awful lot of music coming your way. You are a braver woman than I!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to B&C - thats awesome.
I hate you and your excitement for overcast skies. The rest of us are beggin' mom nature for a little bit of sun. I'm wayyyy more productive when I'm in a happy mood vs. a gloom and doom-end-of-the-earth kind of mood. Wish I was there for your bread though... should would go good with a nice cup of tea!
