Spring break, C's got skillz, and random thoughts

Today is the first day of A and R's spring break. C has school today then she's a free bird, too! We still don't have a concrete plan for the break. I can (almost) guarantee it won't involve pouring beer into a funnel. K's off work next Thursday and Friday so we might skip town for a few days or we might just enjoy the lovely Colorado weather and each other - we'll see how stir crazy we all feel by then. R insists that we need to drive to Ohio to see Tracy and crew and as much as I would love to spend the week giggling with the Batman to my Robin, I decided the drive was a bit daunting with just me and the kids and there's that small detail of never even discussing the possibility with Tracy... perhaps this summer!

Last night the middle school band played their 3rd quarter concert. They were great (as long as we all agree that we're judging on the basis of "relative to their first concert" -- that was... hmmmm... a work in progress...). C played snare for "School Spirit" and "Peasant's Cantata" rocked on the xylophone for "Carnival of Venice." I kind of wish I learned how to play the snare drum in school - it looks so flippin' fun.

Random thoughts:

I like Jay-Z. He's even better with Alicia Keys. Who wouldn't be?

Fresh strawberries are soooooo good. I've eaten 2 quarts in the last 3 days. They're like little seedy, tart harbingers of spring.

C can play "Clocks" (Coldplay) on piano and I wish she would play it all day long.

My hair is getting really, really long. Until a new style grabs me, I guess it will just keep on growing.

Cutest shirt for my girls this spring/summer? This one (white w/ navy stripes). Hands down. It's soooo soft, too.

What is "American Style"? Much of Europe would probably say this. Personally, I want it to be this. Just please tell me it isn't this. Really... that stuff's just wrong.

Craig, I heart you for always smiling at me when I stop by your office. I know it's only because I bring doughnuts but humor me, would you?

Does anything sound better after a long winter than chirping birds? I don't think so.
