The Blind Side

Just a quick note today to say that The Blind Side was a great movie. Sandra Bullock was so convincing as the spitfire southern woman who gets what she wants when she wants it. It is a personality type that can make a woman a self-obsessed bore (boar?) or an amazingly powerful force to get things (good things in this case) done.

I saw it with C and her friend, H. He and C have been friends since their first steps and I don't foresee a time when they won't be happy to have a few hours together. Spending the evening seeing such a great movie with such a great friend was just what C needed after being fed her first real dose of middle school girl drama by her new school friends.

I, of course, wanted to extract my pound of preteen flesh but I know by now to defer to C's better judgment. And better it is...

She said, "I'll spend a few lunches eating alone but I'll have my Cup O Noodles, my book, and my dignity, Mom."

Now if I can just resist the urge to go and spend lunch with her today...

Don't worry. I'll stay put.
