New Moon and Holiday Plans

New Moon was really good. I didn't embarrass the kids with my gasps and oohs and ahs (because the theater was so full... 35 minutes before show time... that we had to sit in pairs scattered around the place). Do 17 year old boys really look like that in real life? (really, I'm asking - when I was 17 we were smack dab in the middle of the second coming of grungy hippie style - not that there's anything wrong with that - but hairless muscly werewolves were not on the menu) If so, my daughters are goners.

and I'd better learn not to stare.

We're planning a really low-key Thanksgiving here at home. We've got some painting to do, and C and R are trading rooms. C is giving up having her own bathroom in exchange for the larger room so she'll have a place to stow her ever-growing collection of musical instruments. It's a mature decision (that I'm sure she will regret when fighting over mirror space with A).

As always, we'll have pumpkin pie and probably soup. We'll go see Fantastic Mr. Fox and try not to feel the isolation of vegetarianism on a holiday built on giblet gravy and shoving one's hand "in the cavity" -- at least we all speak the universal language of whipped cream and for that I am eternally grateful.

Forgive me, diet, you will need to find somewhere else to spend Thursday.

Love to all of you from all of us.
