Ouch.

Not much to say today. I found out yesterday that the searing pain in my hips/legs/back are all disc-related. Apparently I've got a bulging disc that is being very, very mean to my sciatic nerve. MRI tomorrow (claustrophobic, anyone?), NSAIDs today, and hopefully some relief soon.

The silver lining? I might finish reading my book today. I can't really spend much time on the computer because it hurts to sit. I'll get caught up on any good daytime TV (I'm guessing that will take all of 15 minutes).

  1. I know exactly what you're going through. My thoughts are with you and if you need to talk to someone who has gotten through it, give me a call. It's amazing how a tiny bulge can stop your life.

  2. Thanks, Brian! The most pressing question -- just how claustrophobic _is_ the MRI? I'm trying to decide if I should fill the valium prescription.

  3. It's fairly claustrophobic. I don't have an issue with close spaces, but when the table moved into the MRI machine, I had a feeling of 'woah...'. Once inside I was fine. They give you music to listen to, a panic button, and when I had mine done, I was pretty psyched to be lying down and out of pain. The valium might be a good idea if you really don't like tight spaces.
