Last night it was The Pioneer Woman's Spinach Soup with Gruyere and I followed the recipe almost to the letter (I used Swiss instead of Gruyere and I left out the cayenne because I had an unfortunate pineapple binge the other day - seriously, I sat down and dismantled and ate an ENTIRE pineapple - which has left my tum tum a little more fussy than usual). It was simple, warm, reasonably healthful, good with cheese on it, and fun to share with Mr. K.
You know, like life should be.
PS: I love this post. "Next time you turn on a light. BOOM. Chicken." Genius.
Same thing happened here. Now it's 30F and the kids are outside playing in the freezing rain. I say if they can handle that then they can handle going to school in freezing temperatures. My family laughs at me when I tell them we're having a snow day. I don't remember them as a kid. I'm sure we must have had at least one...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I remember a few snow days as a kid but those were days when it was literally impossible to get to school because of the snow. Now, if schools aren't closed when the roads are slick parents lose their cool. Oh well... add it to the list of things I'd do differently if I were emperor.
