Snow day?

I'm confused. It is cold today (high of 6F) but there's hardly any snow and the roads aren't all that bad. Schools were closed for today by 5 p.m. yesterday. Sounds like the superintendent lost in a poker game against a bunch of teachers and a freebie day off was the payoff.

So be it. When life hands us snow days, we make snow cones. So, the kids are watching River Monsters (seriously, what's the appeal??) and eating fresh tortillas. I've heard no complaints.

My Earl Grey is hot and my toes aren't cold so it's been a success so far. Maybe I can convince the kids to work on that goat feed table I spoke so highly of yesterday. Maybe I'll keep that in reserve in case they start to bicker... that'll teach 'em!

Stay warm (or, if you live somewhere warm and sunny, piss off) and think of me around 3 p.m.

Post Edit: No school tomorrow, either. Something about kids waiting for the bus and frozen flesh and that kind of stuff... The kids are rejoicing. I love having the occasional unscheduled day off with one of the kids at a time but with all of them home, it's like the weekend... minus the husband... plus cabin fever. I wonder if it's too late to call Mr. K to bring home a bottle of something... You know, to warm me up...
