Hi!
It's snowing. The roads haven't been plowed. School is in session today. I'm not complaining (at all) but I'm trying to make sense of the school district's decision process. No matter. I'm home, the kids aren't - we're all happier that way today.
My doctor's appointment went fine yesterday. I'm not sure he appreciated my sense of humor when he was asking all of his doctory questions about pretty much everything um... personal and I said, "Don't you think you should buy me dinner before you delve into all that?" he was only slightly amused... and then asked even more personal questions. I appreciate his attention to detail and his expertise in thyroid issues (a lot) but I was worn out after being the center of oh so detailed attention for much of the day. Tomorrow is blood work day - and given the number of tests that will be run (the $$... Oh, the $$!) I may be the bloodless wonder by the end of it. I usually do these things halfway but I decided this time to surrender myself to the whole shebang and make a real effort to get really and truly healthy. I'm not sure why it's so scary to commit to it. The worst part about it all is that, in the end, my health nut (dare I say, health obsessed? Why yes, yes I do.) mama might have actually been right.
And we all know there's nothing worse than that.
Oh yeah, and I have a huge pile of laundry both clean and dirty to deal with today. Aces.
C and R have been swimming away (well... "swimming" is a strong description of their butterfly... which looks more like a somewhat coordinated seizure. No matter - their backstroke and freestyle are a thing of beauty and their breaststroke, though slow, doesn't look like a bad drug reaction) and I do mean away. They're shrinking before my eyes (despite their epic consumption of food after each practice). I'm beginning to think there's a connection between exercise and weight loss. I'll do a little research and get back to you.
Stay warm!
What? Weight loss and exercise are connected - in a POSITIVE way? I think you're just talkin' trash.
ReplyDeleteWish I was there... you know 'cause I miss you - not 'cause of the sun and the warmer temperatures... yah, not that...
I know it's all about me.
