Swoopy or Linear?

The post title could very easily refer to what types of thinkers my dear hubs and I are. Wanna guess which one is linear? If I told you Mr. K works in IT, loves maps, and may or may not have done some geometry to figure out how to most efficiently mow the pasture, would it be any more clear?

In fact, I'm not talking about how utterly illogical I can be at times -- I'm talking about the landscaping in my backyard. In the front, I love a messy, colorful explosion of flowers but in the back (which has a lot of shade), I prefer mostly foliage and something a little more soothing (and low maintenance).

Or should I just mulch the whole thing with white rocks, stick in a few plastic flamingos, grab a Bud Light and call it a day?
