I've always liked irises. This year, I love them. I'm not sure what combination of sun/rain/soil/planet alignment occurred this spring but they've put on a non-stop show of color and scent that has me newly smitten. I may need to add a few more to my collection when my lovely neighbor, Garnet (such a great name), divides hers this year!
The roses (other than the Harison's yellow, which is already looking fabulous) are in full bud. I can't wait to see what they're going to look like this year.
If you don't already have some meadow sage in your garden, plant some! The bees have been all over the lovely dark purple flowers. I really like the dark color and the form in the early-season garden. It blooms like crazy all season, even during the "blah" times when not too much else is at its peak.
I don't think I've shown you the critters... the sheep are still awaiting their turn with the shearer. It has been especially hard to get an appointment this year. I guess they've been busy with large flocks but my fuzzy friends need their attention ASAP!
In a few weeks we ought to get our first "trainer eggs" - tiny little "first eggs" from the hens - I'll be sure to take a photo of them.
