Yes, I snicker when I hear the Prius referred to as the "Pious" - don't get me wrong, I'm all for technological advances that lessen human impact on the environment. Driving a hybrid does not, however, excuse all other over-consumptive behavior. He who (looking down his nose at all those SUV drivers on their way to work) drives his Prius to the airport to embark on a cross-country airplane flight has clearly not ever heard of a carbon footprint.
My next car might be a hybrid. If I give you the "tsk tsk" look when I park next to you and your (gasp) non-hybrid car, please smack me.
