...despite the prevalence of stressed out Christmas shoppers, I still managed to stay in a good mood. Could it be the absolutely lovely snow blanketing everything in sight? Maybe it was that cup of Earl Grey I had before I left. Maybe it's because I left K at home to wrap a small mountain of gifts (I swear we kept it modest this year but there's always more than I remember buying at this point).
Then, I got home and our uber-neighbor Ted was out front plowing our driveway with his cheerful blue tractor. Then, I came inside, clicked over to A Cup of Jo and there was a link to this. Then, I walked downstairs to find the kids finishing up decorating the Christmas tree.
All that, and K told me a joke this morning that, in essence, said that what every man wants for Christmas is a mistletoe belt buckle. For some reason that one cracked me up WAY more than it should have. Then, I just had to do a little googling and I found.... this. Apparently this isn't a new joke.
It's no Billy the Bigmouth Bass (ours sings Christmas Carols), but it is funny. Alas, it won't find its way into K's stocking this year. He doesn't wear a belt. And I don't want to explain it to the kids. I'm also too cheap to pay for express shipping.
The Santa thing is a little disturbing! And the buckle - well, even more so! I don't know if I should laugh and/or cry....
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the chuckles.
Probably both... (laughing and crying, not perverted santas and tacky belt buckles).
ReplyDeleteI probably didn't need to clarify but I would hate to be responsible for the (further) decline of your moral compass...
