Craigslist, oh craigslist!

Last night I found out that for the first time, craigslist failed me. I have been on a search for a marimba for some time for C since she is planning to take the percussion world by storm (but only if it doesn't require too much practice time...). I found a great marimba in South Carolina at a good price, sent a cashier's check for the sales price and the shipping, and started trying to find a place for the big ol' thing. When I checked the mail last night I found a cashier's check for the full purchase amount and a letter saying that the sellers had changed their minds. Fair enough but I'm bummed.

So, to restore my faith in the powers of craigslist, here are a few local finds that I could see myself falling in love with:

This armoire would look great in my kitchen to store snacks and storage containers. It would fit perfectly between the window and the glass doors. Why am I not running a couple of towns over and forking over the $150 asking price? I have no clue. Perhaps I will.

We've also been thinking about getting a real piano. Right now, we have a Roland digital piano that works well but doesn't have the same richness as the real deal. I'm kind of loving this one.

In the "pipe dreams" category, I've always wanted to get a vintage trailer and turn it into a guest house of sorts. I'm especially fond of airstreams and old "canned ham" trailers. I don't, however, have any desire whatsoever to actually tow a trailer. I'm kind of a chicken while driving anyway... I don't think a trailer would help. Anyway, there are always a few airstreams on craigslist so when I win the lottery and completely give up on having a clean house, I'm getting into the airstream restoration/remodeling business!

So there we have it. Reasons to restore our faith in craigslist. I'm off to take my very best craigslist find ever (Poppy) to get her next set of shots and to snarl at all of the women in the clinic (Poppy, not me).

Have a lovely Wednesday.

  1. Darn Craigslist. Sometimes it happens but don't let it deter you from shopping, shopping, shopping!

How's Poppy's diet going? Poor Putty is still suffering from allergies and I think we're the only people in Columbus hoping for snow.

  2. The only thing deterring me from shopping is lack of space... and disposable income... and the desire to lift heavy things...

Poppy's diet has been a great success. I'm not sure "all raw" is necessary but it sure has made a difference.

I like snow, just not the cruddy, icy aftermath! Here's hoping you'll see some flakes soon.
