Yesterday I had a lovely lunch with my mama at Tasty Harmony. Being that she's a weirdo (it's a term of endearment in our family and let's face it... after years of exciting weekend outings to psychic fairs! food co-op pick-ups! copper pyramid makers! UFO landing sites! singing bowl concerts! she earned the title) and ready to try any new health or diet craze, the lady knows her raw food. She even has a book by this guy:
So, I knew a trip to our local raw/organic/whatever weirdo craze is hot right now restaurant was in order. It didn't disappoint. My mom was like an addict in an unlocked pharmacy. "Living" Falafel! Juliened beets! Raw hummus! Veges galore! Yummy dressing! All except for a rather unfortunate "sunflower croquette" it was really good. Oh yeah, and the fresh almond brazil coconut milk was really, really good - no "for weirdo food" qualifiers on that statement, either. YUM! We were too stuffed (with roughage) to manage a dessert but I have to admit, I'm curious about the raw coconut cream pie with chocolate sauce.Wind:
Sustained NW at 25 mph gusts a whole freakin' lot stronger.
Ugh.
Canine Couture:
Given said wind, the pooch has been freezing her adorable little tail off. She's a play-a-holic and yet I can hardly get her to go out to pee. I think I might have to break down and get her a sweater or something. It can be kind of hard to find dog outerwear that doesn't make me think of Paris Hilton's chihuahua or make me think just plain, 'what did that poor guy do to deserve that?'. Here are a few options... thoughts?

Dear Poppy,I was kidding about the leopard print one. Please don't pee on the floor.
Love,
The Human
Not sure about the raw food - I like salad as much as the next guy and I am a bit lazy but even I've got limits...
ReplyDeleteI like the hooded dog poncho/rain gear. Seems a little less embarrasing and it's got a hood - I'm not sure why it's got a hood but hey, accessories make the girl!
