I love Jason Segel, too, but ever since I saw his "Full Monty" in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (another really funny movie) I can't look him in the eye. So... the point is, "I Love You, Man" was HILARIOUS. It was just what the doctor ordered. If you happen to be (or be married to) a shy man who may or may not play a mean air guitar (I'm not naming any names) you'll love it even more.

In other news, Labor Day weekend was lovely. We had a house full of kids on Saturday evening for a campout, hide-and-seek, "German Spotlight" (we just called it flashlight tag when I was a kid), movies, sheep-chasing, wii, sushi (hey, they're renaissance kids), scooter riding, and doughnuts for breakfast. Then, the little kids wanted to sleep out the next night so I dragged my bad back and woefully-inadequate-for-the-job sleeping pad out to Tentzilla. I made it until 5:30 a.m. and then I had to pee and begin the process of stretching enough to be able to stand upright again.
K went on a nice, long bike ride on Monday and the kids and I stayed home griping at each other because we were overtired. It wasn't exactly the youthful magic moment I might have pictured for our bonus Monday off school but at least it was warm and the puppy is getting better at playing fetch.
All in all, summer '09 was a good one. We didn't get out and about as much as we had planned but we did enjoy our house and land and each other. No complaints here.
